Conversations first
Saved contacts, local history, unread counts, and delivery status keep you oriented. Queued messages retry when you and your contact are online and reachable.
Call a friend or invite a joined group chat into a voice or video call. People choose when to join, can mute or turn off their camera, and can keep talking after the person who started the call leaves.
Attach or drop files into a direct chat. They stream from their original location, and recipients choose when to download. Interrupted downloads can resume.
Group chats support up to 16 people, including the creator. Share text and pictures, join calls, and keep chatting with connected members while the creator is away.
Post updates, photos, albums, and videos. Browse your news feed while keeping chats beside it. Posts default to friends-only; choose Public when you want a wider audience.
Add a name and picture, then an optional bio, interests, location, or website. Your profile includes Posts, About, Photos, Albums, and Videos. Editing your name keeps your identity and conversations.

Open Groups to create a forum with categories, sections, topics, and replies. Give announcements their own section, organize projects, and see where the latest discussion is happening.
Administrators add and edit sections, pin useful topics, lock discussions, and hide topics. Topic and reply counts make it easy to find an active conversation. Forum discussions currently support text.
Share a group invite and approve new members. Administrators can kick, ban, and unban; the owner appoints other administrators. Groups are designed for up to 64 members and eight administrators.
Members and administrators keep redundant local copies. Connected members can exchange topics and replies while the owner is offline, and downloaded discussions stay readable without a connection.
Make the connection
Install Peer Chat and save a profile name. Add a profile picture if you like. Your identity is created on your device.
Choose My invite → Copy invite. Share it with your friend, then paste their invite into New chat. Both people add each other.
Open the conversation and press Enter to send. Use Shift+Enter for a new line, attach a file or picture, or select Voice call or Video call. Choose Groups → Create group to start a community forum.
Try the preview
For Windows 11 or Windows 10 22H2. The installer includes the required Node and .NET runtimes, dependencies, and the offline Microsoft WebView2 installer for calls if it is missing. Open Peer Chat from the Start menu after installation.
This is a preview release with an unsigned installer. Use the same current version on every device: forum groups require 0.13 or newer. Group calls require 0.12 or newer.
Connections are encrypted. Local history and identity keys are not encrypted by the app. Send original files through direct chats; group chats support text, pictures, and calls. Forum Groups support topics and text replies.
Local and relay checks, offline-owner forum hosting, and restart recovery have been tested. Separate-home calls, separate-home forums, and larger communities still need practical testing.
Updates and uninstall preserve your local profile. Keep a backup of your profile if you want to retain your identity and history.
